The trick to a healthy skin lies in diligently keeping up a certain clarifying routine. I’ve found that over the past years, keeping to a single routine has helped me maintain my skin and also allowed me to pin-point the exact cause of a skin breakout when I get them. Is your makeup melting off your face?

Yes, you CAN apply your make up in the morning and still look fabulous at the end of the day.

It’s easy to tells someone to simply “not wear any make up” when they complain that their make up is melting off in the heat. But it’s no easy feat doing it yourself, especially on days when you just need to look put together (basically every single day).

A primer is your best bet when it comes to making your make up stay put and in place, so that at the end of the day, you still look fresh.

1.  Nivea after shave balm

I’m sure many of you have heard of using the Nivea Men after shave balm as a make-up primer after it was made famous by Youtube beauty guru Nikkie tutorials. After she introduced it on a channel, many other Youtubers put it to the test and almost all of the following reviews were positive.

Youtuber Kathleen Lights also put it to the test and she enjoyed the results as well. It includes an ingredient called Glycerine that allows your make up to stick to your skin.

2. L’oreal Magic Perfecting Base

Another affordable drugstore alternative is the Loreal Magic Perfecting Primer. What I love about the formula is that it glides on your face very smoothly and leaves your skin feel baby soft. It also helps to control oil on your face, so that your T-zone would not look greasy halfway throughout the day. My foundation also glides on easily afterwards.

3. ETUDE HOUSE Proof 10 Eye Primer

Some people call this a dupe of Urban Decay’s Primer Potion and I totally agree. In fact, my personal opinion is that this is better because it is WAY cheaper and I really appreciate that. The wand applicator is also convenient to use. If you have oily eyelids, this would work for you as well, as the primer really makes your eye make-up STICK. As someone living in a hot climate and basically perspire every time I set my foot outdoors, I can attest to that.

4. Sloane Inc 24K Gold Skin Primer

This multi-tasking primer not only helps to make my make-up stay put but also helps to enhance my skin’s elasticity, firmness & smoothness. Oh, and did I mention that it contains pure 24 Karat Gold?

5.  Nyx make up setting spray

Okay, so after you’ve applied your primer, foundation, highlighter, bronzer and the works, you need to keep your fabulous make-up in place, right? That’s when you apply your NYX setting spray to keep everything in check. Your make-up wouldn’t budge an inch after that. I love it.
