Taking Beauty to the Next Level

When the seasons change, I always take a step back and think of how I can improve my beauty routine. I’ve gotten pretty good at adjusting my line-up, but when I need a little extra help, I turn to the pros. From chemical peels to laser hair removal, here are 3 surefire ways you can take beauty to a whole new level.

For anyone who wants bright, glowy skin, chemical peels are an incredible option, helping to improve the skin’s texture and tone, while reducing the overall appearance of fine lines. They can also help control acne, reduce dark spots and create a natural, youthful glow.

These “lunchtime facials” are super quick, and you can go right back to work or play right after. They’re great for people who have problems with acne, since they help to unclog pores, and control breakouts.

For dark spots and fine lines, opt for a medium-depth peel. They often combine several exfoliants (salicylic acid, and acetic acid, for example) that can make a huge difference in just one treatment. These peels work like a sunburn, where old skin peels away to reveal healthy, younger skin underneath.

Do keep in mind that after a peel, sun care and moisturizing are top priority. Chemical peels help give the skin a healthy glow, but also makes it a little more sensitive to the sun, so make sure to use a good SPF. If you aren’t moisturized, it could lead to cracks and possible scarring. Ideally, you should also avoid anything abrasive, like scrubs or exfoliators until your skin is completely healed.

Fat loss is never a linear process. You make good progress in the beginning, and then you experience a road block, when tired and tested methods simply don’t give you results.

If you’re stuck or simply want a head start, Coolsculpting may be the answer. Also know as cryolipolysis, or Coolshape, it’s an FDA-approved procedure where fat cells in the targeted areas are cooled to near freezing. The body will then metabolize the crystallized fat cells, and eliminate them from the body without straining the liver.

Keep in mind that you’ll still have to watch your diet, minimizing fat intake so as to keep new fat cells from forming in other parts of your body. Those who are very overweight won’t be as satisfied with the results, as Coolsculpting is designed to purge fat from specific areas, not the body as a whole.

It is a bit pricey, however. One session can end up costing around $10,000, treating the abdomen, thighs, and arms. Plus, multiple sessions may be needed for better, more noticeable results, but it might be just what you’re looking for. As the leading aesthetic clinic in Singapore, SW1 Clinic offers Coolsculpting for those looking for a flatter stomach without the hassle.

Hate shaving? This one is for you. You can get it done pretty much anywhere – legs, face, underarms, even the bikini area. Depending on which treatment you choose, the pain level varies, but a topical numbing cream is usually applied to the targeted area to minimize discomfort. Unlike waxing, there’s no risk of  infections, ingrown hairs, and even burns from the hot wax!

Because hair grows in cycles, you can only get rid of hair by around 20 percent each session. For most people, it can take anywhere from 4-6 sessions to get rid of hair completely, though it’s different for everyone. The area will be pink and a little sore for about a day, but other than that, downtime is minimal.

Soprano Ice Permanent Hair Removal is an FDA-approved hair removal treatment that offers a rapid “fuzz-free” treatment. Plus, the results are permanent! It works by disabling the hair follicle in its active growth phase, though you’ll probably need to undergo a few sessions to take care of every follicle.
