Tips & Tricks for Perfect Lips

As we know, our lips are just as delicate as our eye area. It’s pretty obvious that we have to treat our lips with extra care. Here are some ways to achieve a perfect pout!

1. Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!

Exfoliating removes dead skin cells, revealing super soft lips that’ll make it much easier for your lipstick to glide on. For matte lovers, exfoliating will reduce the appearance of lip lines. Sloane Inc’s Lip Fabulosity Scrub features finely granulated sweet sugar, fine almond shells, jojoba and olive oils, shea and cocoa butters, with vitamins A, C and E. Not only does it just condition and nourish your lips but it’s yummy as well. Just make sure you don’t eat it all up first!

2. Play up your cupid’s bow!

Defining your cupid’s bow would make your lips look extra kissable. This nifty trick helps to subtly bring attention towards your lips without it looking it unnatural. For beginners, check out this helpful tutorial on how to draw a perfect cupid’s bow.

Another way to give your lips the added “edge” is to enlist the help of top aesthetic doctors. “A touch of the right filler at the cupid’s bow can dramatically change the shape of lips from drab to fab” says Dr Low Chai Ling, medical director of The Sloane Clinic, whose clientele include those not just wanting to make their pouts plumper but those who want to reshape their lips or simply enhance their cupid’s bow. “People always have the misconception that more is better, in actual fact, less is more. It’s the right placing rather than the quantity that can makes a lip shape sexy”, she adds.

3. Never overdraw your lips lines!

Take it from Sulli who knows just how to rock her pout without looking overdone for an everyday look! Over-lining brings too much attention towards your lips – and not in a good way. But if you absolutely must, here’s a tutorial for how you can rock that look!

Recently, Moonshot came up with a few new colors for their Lip Feat line, and they looked so stunning on the girls of Blackpink that I just had to try them out for myself. I got the one Lisa’s wearing, mysteriously codenamed ‘The Red’. If you have any qualms about buying a lipstick from YG Ent., well, now you can put them to rest. It’s actually very nicely pigmented, and doesn’t transfer too easily.

For a more subtle look, opt for a lip gradient instead. Laneige’s brand new Two Tone Tint Lip Bar is specially designed to leave a gradient effect on your lips, so you don’t even have to go through the trouble of smudging the pigment with your fingers!
