Flawless Skin in 4 Weeks


2017 is just a week away. If you haven’t done so already, it’s time to make good on your beauty resolutions for the new year! Your skin deserves a treat, and this super simple beauty regime will leave you with healthy, glowing skin in just 4 weeks!


Week 1

The first step to beautiful skin is clearing up those comedones. What are they exactly?

Comedonal acne is a mild form of acne. When your follicles get clogged by sebum and old skin particles, comedones are formed. Open comedones are known as blackheads, and closed ones are whiteheads. Make sure to wash your face twice a day to keep your skin clean and refreshed. Using an exfoliating facial scrub is great for this.


You can also try making your own homemade masks. It’s super simple, and there are many recipes on the internet you can follow, but my personal favourite is this honey and lemon mask. All you need is half an organic lemon, 1 tablespoon of raw honey. (Oh, and also a bowl to mix it in, of course.)

Why lemon and honey? I’m glad you asked. Lemons are absolutely bursting with AHA and BHA which help remove dead skin cells, clear up blackheads, acne, and discoloration. Honey on the other hand, is an a natural antioxidant and antibacterial.


Before applying the mask, you need to prep your skin. Get a bowl of boiling water and position your face over it. The steam from the hot water will dilate your pores.

Mix 1 tablespoon of raw organic honey and the juice from half a lemon into a bowl. Now, apply all over your face, but make sure to avoid the eye area. Let your skin soak up all this goodness for 15-30 minutes. Wash away with warm water, finishing up with a splash of cold water to close your pores, and pat dry with a towel. You can either follow up with your favorite moisturizer, or let your skin breathe for the rest of the day.


For me, I like to use Sloane Inc Skin Rescue S6.1 right before I go to bed. It’s irritant free, so there’s no problems with leaving it on overnight. It’ll do all your work for you while you get your beauty sleep.

But if your skin is particularly stubborn, you might want to consider The Sloane Clinic’s Purifying Program. Week 2

We all love frolicking at the beach, but frequent exposure to the sun increases the production of melanin, which causes discoloration of the skin. Melanin is your skin’s method of defending itself against harmful UV rays, but it also causes uneven skin tone.


For a natural way to lighten your skin, try using papaya. Apart from being a delicious, healthy fruit, papaya also contains skin-lightening properties.

Mash a ripe papaya, and mix with one cup of freshly-squeezed lemon juice. Make sure to massage the mixture all over your face and neck. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes (20 minutes if you have sensitive skin), before rinsing off with cold water. Do this once a week, and you’ll start to notice your skin gradually becoming fairer.

But if you’re as impatient as I am, laser treatments will give you near-instant results. The downside is that your skin does need some time to recover, after the treatment. It’s super important to find a reputable clinic to do this at, so that you can receive the best post-treatment care.


Sloane Inc White Plasma S6.5 is a great pick-me-up if you’re iffy about going under the laser. Not only is this serum oil and hydroquinone-free, it also helps to get rid of pesky discoloration. It doesn’t just lighten the skin, either. The Vitamin C in it leaves your skin with a positively radiant glow.


Week 3

When you don’t cleanse your skin properly, oil will start to settle around your pores, enlarging them prematurely. What does that mean? Large pores means that there’s more space for dirt and sebum to hide in, resulting in (gasp!) acne and blackheads. So, now you know that minimizing pore size isn’t just an aesthetic choice; it’s a surefire way to keep skin problems at bay, too.


Believe it or not, that’s not a Coca-Cola slushie you’re seeing. It’s actually a sugar scrub. Sugar scrubs are a simple beauty trick with countless variations, and they’re incredibly moisturising and exfoliating to the skin.

They can be used on your face, body, and even your feet! What’s more? They take under ten minutes to make. Convinced yet? For the bare essentials, all you need is half a cup of organic brown sugar, and half a cup of coconut oil. But if you want to get fancy with it, feel free to throw in your favorite essential oils.

There’s no special trick to this, just mix everything together in a bowl, and store the resulting mixture in an airtight jar. Use as needed in the shower. Give your skin a good scrub with the mixture, and rinse well. Trust me on this, your skin will literally end up feeling like silk.


Peels an easy, non-invasive way to provide your skin with nutrients. Want to pamper your skin this weekend? Take 1 teaspoon of organic honey, 1 teaspoon of rose water, half a teaspoon of pure Vitamin C powder, and mix well in a small bowl or saucer. If you find the mixture a little too runny, you can add a little more Vitamin C powder. Simply massage the mixture onto your face with your fingertips, leave it on for 30 minutes, and rinse off with warm water. Using pure Vitamin C will give your skin a bright, healthy glow.
