Every once in a while, you want to give your skin a break. What better way to do that than with a “no makeup” makeup look? Your skin will have a chance to breathe when you go easy on the foundations and concealers, and should really enhance your natural glow. Learn how to look your best with minimal makeup.
Step one – tackle the skin. You want to look like you just rolled out of bed, natural but flawless. Go for a good illuminating primer and colour enhancer. Currently, I’m really into Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and Sloane Inc Anti Pigment BB Cream. These products are sure to instantly invigorate, moisturise and tighten skin to create an energised appearance. Of course, you should also blend everything perfectly into the skin and fix in place with a setting spray.
Next, a good concealer is key. My personal favourite is Laura Mercier’s High Coverage Concealer. Lightly around the corners of your nose, under your eyes, and blend using your fingers.
Next, we can’t forget about highlight – NARS The Multiple in Copacabana is great for fair skin. Take your highlighter of choice and gently dab on your face. Be sure to target the spots you want illuminated by the light. The bridge of your nose, under your eyebrows, the cupid’s bow and of course, your upper cheekbones. This gives you a natural, glowy look without looking over-the-top.
On your eyelids, apply a very tiny amount of eyeshadow. Nude palettes are what you want for a more natural look. With Estee Lauder’s Sculpting Eyeshadow Palette in Defiant Nude, the possibilities are endless.
On your lips, go over them with a nude lipliner. Then put on some light lip gloss for a polished, moisturised look.
And there you have it – it’s the “no makeup” makeup look that will have you feeling cool, confident and fresh.
