Tackle blemished and pigmented skin at the comfort of your very own home.
We all have days where we want to pamper ourselves and keep our skin happy. For those suffering from blemished or pigmented skin, here’s a simple DIY to brighten your skin and keep those spots at bay.
1. Gently exfoliate
Gently exfoliating your skin will rid it off dead skin cells and remove the dirt that is trapped beneath your skin’s surface. Exfoliating once a week will help to keep your skin healthy and glowing. It is an important step that is often neglected in most skincare routines.
In the video, we used Crystal Clear Scrub to exfoliate the skin. It is packed skin-smoothing, bamboo micro-crystals, Vitamin E and soothing aloe. This exfoliating scrub is great for minimising your pores, and is definitely worth the splurge as a little bit of the product goes a long way.
Another alternative that I enjoy using is the Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Wash Off. Let me tell you that this mask smells heavenly. Just apply this on your face and scrub very gently to leave your skin feeling porcelain smooth and soft.
Hyperpigmentation is a nuisance for those who have it. It is a darkening of an area of skin caused by the overproduction of a pigment in the skin known as melanin. It is relatively common and usually harmless. However, it may look less than perfect on your skin.
In this video, we applied Instant pigment corrector generously over the pigmented patches only. This cream helps to reduce the appearance of spots on your face.
I usually apply this on areas with acne scars to lighten them and also hydrate those areas. I must say that with regular use, this helps to significantly reduce remaining acne spots as well.
When you have a fresh out-of-the-oven pimple, I suggest using the tea-tree oil instead.
3. Mask it up!
We all love facial masks. They’re soothing, relaxing and makes your skin feel wonderful afterwards without having to do much. Since the aim today is to brighten our overall complexion, we used the White Luminosity Mask.
This mask soaks your skin in Vitamin C goodness for a glowing, dewy complexion after that. I love this mask and this is one of my favourite masks to use that I save for a rainy day. When I need extra pampering, I tend to reach for this mask to make my skin feel good.
There are so many masks in the market that caters to skin whitening. Just remember not to leave your mask on for more than the suggested time!
4. A vitamin a day, keeps the spots at bay
Vitamin C, that is. This magic elixir helps to reduce the visible sign of photo aging by fighting destructive free radicals. These productive functions result in retextured, toned, and younger looking skin.
Alternatively, Wild’s Vitamin C Ester Facial Serum also helps in brightening spots and reducing the chances of having acne-prone skin due to the Vitamin C.
